dewa SecureQR

dewa has designed the protocol and format SecureQR to allow securely sharing and verifying short lived presentations of Verifiable Credentials (VC) in close proximity between two devices. It builds upon the use case of verifying Credentials without a full OpenID4VP flow, e.g. proving your age at the club or proving your identity during train ticket inspection.

In order for the verifier to accept SecureQR codes from the user's e-Wallet, certain assumptions must be made about the security of the presentation. Checkout the Security Considerations for SecureQR v1 and SecureQR v2 for more info.

Note: ONLY VERIFICATION BETWEEN TWO e-Wallet USERS IS OFFICIALLY SUPPORTED, CHANGES TO PROTOCOL AND FORMAT MAY OCCUR WITHOUT NOTICE.
